I was looking for a way to keep the rooms in my house cool during the hot summer months, but I did not want to go down the air conditioning road. I also did not want a ceiling mounted fan, so it seemed a window mounted fan was the only answer. Unfortunately there was nothing available that could move the amount of air that i needed. That is until i came across the Air King 9166.

I'm not someone who is into DIY, but the Installation for this fan was surprisingly easy. A template and manual is included for easy placement and installation and you will find that this fan will fit most windows between 27 and 38 inches wide. Also included is a storm guard, this allows the window to be closed at the rear of the fan.

The 9166 is the larger of two window fans that Air King make, the 9166 is the "20" and the other smaller model, the "16" It is also offers more power than the 16? The 9166 can blow as much as 3560 CFM (cubic feet per metre) with a sound reading of 64.

American Construction

The grill and blades of the 9166 are made from powder coated steel. Also incorporated are plastic extender panels which can easily adjusted for a perfect fit.

To say that this thing moves air is an understatement, in fact lots of air. That said at full speed it can be quite loud, but there are no rattling of parts. I would recommend that you put it in a room you don't use much and open the windows in the rooms where you want cool air in and hot air out. And because it's in a room a fair distance from my bed room, i can't hear it at all at night.
