How Does a Window Fan Work?

Fans that fit inside your window are specially designed to remove the hot air from a room and will effectively do so if the temperature outside is cooler than your home. These fans work best in the morning and evening hours when the sun is not at its peak.
Simple Tips to Install a Window Fan
Installing your fan inside a window is as easy as three short steps. Since windows range in size it is best to measure the windows first before venturing out to the hardware store to choose a fan. Once you have the fan home, you can begin the installation process which takes mere minutes.
1. First open your window wider than the fan is. If your windows are older and do not stay up on their own, it is recommended to have an assistant hold it open for you to avoid unnecessary injuries. Once your window is open, place the fan in horizontally. If you have a slider window then hold your fan vertically to fill the open side of the slider.
2. Gently lower the window until it is snug against the window fan. You can push against it to make certain it is set in place.
3. Pull open the side panels on the fan, expanding them even to fully fill the space between the window frame and the window fan. This will benefit you in two ways. You will keep the bugs out and effectively allow the warm air to be forced outside rather than circle back indoors.
Fans for all kinds of windows, from your regular dining room windows to a double front window, are available for you. Not sure what you want? Browse fans for your window from the comfort of your home. They're online available through a hardware store. Since they work to remove hot air by releasing the cooler air into the home from outside, you can find a window fan almost any time of year. There are many different window fans available some even have features that shut off when the fan is not needed, effectively saving you money.
